OGLES Darrell It is with much sadness that we, the family of Darrell Edward Ogles announce the passing of our beloved father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and friend in Blackfalds, Alberta. Darrell was born January 23, 1931 in Springhill, Nova Scotia. He served as a private in Germany with the First Canadian Highland Battalion during World War II. After the war Darrell got involved in sales as the general manager of Rosco Windows in New Brunswick. He eventually wanted to be his own boss and ventured into running his own restaurants and service stations. He continued in his ventures until retirement. He had spent the last few years catching up and getting to know his children. He always had a smile, a laugh and a kind word for everyone. Darrell is fondly remembered by his sons: Darren (Tanya), and Mike; daughters: Donna, Dawn, Barb, Chrissie and Mary; grandchildren: D.J., Destin, Jessica, Chantel and Santera; his one Great Grandchild Denali; sister Joyce Michniak (Dowe); niece Marilyn and nephew David; close friends Denise, Keith and Rob and many other close acquaintances. Darrell was predeceased by his first wife Mary (Adams), and third wife Margaret (Cameron). Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at Wilson's Funeral Chapel, 6120 Hwy 2A, Lacombe, AB. If friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to charity of one's choice.
