Darrell ROLFES

ROLFES Darrell John Rolfes passed away suddenly on August 6, 2005 at the age of 38 years. He was born in Eckville on May 19, 1967. Darrell was raised in Eckville where he accumulated numerous friends. At the age of 18, he and his brother Dan and friends Rick and Marvin Eluik went to Legend to work for Harold Stumpf. It was Darrell's first experience in the oil patch and he fell in love with it and that would become his lot in life. He worked on rigs for the next 5 years. He then ran steamers up until 2000 when he then started Tracker Steam. He and his wife built this into a great business that he was extremely proud of. His shop, farm and Peterbilt were his pride and joy. He also had many interests including classic cars, hunting, fishing and had recently taken up golf and was getting better every year. Darrell met and married his wife Cheryl Cammidge in Eckville on May 1, 1993. Together they had 2 wonderful daughters. They became Darrell's whole life. He loved his family and enjoyed being with them. Darrell is survived by his loving wife Cheryl; his two daughters Teylor and Jordyn; his mother Rose Rolfes; four brothers, Bernie, Dan, Bob (Karen) and Rick (Trish); two sisters, Marie and Rosie; his mother-in-law Jean Hunter (Doug); his brother-in-law Rick Cammidge; sister-in-law Keltie Wolney (Murray) as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Darrell was predeceased by his father Tony and sister Laurie Ann Thomson. Funeral Services for the late Mr. Darrell Rolfes will be held at the Eckville Community Centre on Thursday, August 11, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Sandra Franklin-Law officiating. Cremation entrusted to the Rocky Mountain Crematorium. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations in Darrell's memory may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
