It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. David Rolleston 'Dave' Grant of Delburne, Alberta in Red Deer, due to failing health, on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at the age of 89 years. Dave was born on May 12, 1932 in Ancón, Guayas, Ecuador, where his father was a Doctor. Around the age of ten, the family moved to Canada and eventually settled in Red Deer. Dave worked in exploration with Chevron in Calgary for thirty-eight years. Upon retirement,Dave moved to the Delburne area and invested in farming with his son. Dave had many passions;which included wood working and painting portraits and landscapes. He was a very accomplished artist. He also loved riding his Gold Wing Motorcycle, touring across Canada and the US. Dave will be missed by all who knew him, and will be remembered for his generous personality and caring nature. He had an infectious smile. He loved spending his winters down in Arizona, where he developed many great friendships. Dave will be lovingly remembered by his second wife, Dearla (Anderson/Bakke), and her family, his sister, Maureen Hodgert, his daughter-in-law, Karen Grant, his granddaughter, Kelly (Mac) Kuziw, his grandson, David Grant (Robyn Meissner) and his six great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dave was predeceased by his parents, Dr. David Reginald Grant (1955) and Kathleen (Danell) Grant (1996), his first wife, Thelma (Ansley) Grant (1986), a son, David Ronald Grant (2021) and a sister, Rosalind Grant (2018).
