de WAAL "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in Me will never die." John 11:25-26 Albert Theodore de Waal of Ponoka, peacefully entered into the presence of His Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 25, 2009. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol. Children: Tom (Donna) de Waal of Calgary, Annetta (Phillip) Grinevitch of Tempe, Arizona, Johanna (Onno) Roos of Ponoka, Tony (Yvonne) de Waal of Ponoka, Hendrika Nieboer of Gilbert, Arizona, Alice McCargar of Stony Plain, Albertina (Jeff) Jansen of Sioux Centre, Iowa, Ray de Waal and Mark de Waal of Red Deer. Albert also leaves behind 22 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Albert is a brother to Bep (Jan) Van Der Molen, Zaandam, Holland, Sandy (Annette) de Waal of Calgary, Mien (Hank) Visser, Oosdorp, Ho lland, Tom (Audrey) de Waal, Millet, Margaret Graham, Henrietta Pente, Henry (Grace) de Waal, Jack (Linda) de Waal, all of Calgary, Bill (Karen) de Waal of North Saanich, B.C. and John de Waal of New Westminister, B.C. Albert was pre-deceased by his first wife, Antonia, his parents, Thomas and Hendrika de Waal, brother Dirk de Waal, 2 sisters Ali Veltrop and Johanna de Waal as well as 2 sister-in-laws and 3 brother-in-laws. Albert was a faithful and loving husband, a caring and doting father, Opa and Great Opa to his children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. He was a hard working, Godly man who loved the Lord and was an evangelist at heart. His attributes in Christ were many: He was a prayer warrior, an encourager, and a spirit filled believer. Albert was kind, generous and compassionate. His keen sense of humour always made us laugh. He had a positive attitude which was infectious, even to the end. Albert will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed. We have the Hope that we will see him again. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. at Woodynook Christian Reformed Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Reformed World Missions or World Vision.
