Dennis LEMAY

LEMAY, Dennis Joseph Born in Trochu, Alberta on July 10, 1948, Dennis passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 31, 2007. He is dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife Robin, daughter Tara (Adam), step-children Steven and Meechan (Adam), his sisters Hélène (Dale) and Yvonne, his brothers René (Lidia), Bernard (Maxine) and Georges (Helen), his sister-in-law Marilyn, 16 nieces and nephews and brothers-in-law Rob (Amy) and Lou (Debbie) Dillinger. He was predeceased by his parents Ambroise and Yvonne and his brother Marc. Dennis' fondest memories were of his childhood on the farm, surrounded by family and friends, with much laughter and music. By age five, he played drums and piano and in his teens he started Trochu's first rock band. His passion for seeing the world and experiencing new cultures took him to India, Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas over his lifetime. He valued education and was proud of his three degrees that added up to a decade of post-secondary studies at U of A and McGill. Dennis' career reflected his many talents and adventurous spirit. He was a teacher, musician, entrepreneur, lawyer and most recently, an owner and manager of an oilfield services company in Central Alberta. Dennis lived each day to the fullest and will be remembered for his love of life and sense of humour, with laughter that never ended. He was happiest when surrounded by his family, friends and loyal dogs, Doc, Molly and Barney. A celebration of Dennis' life will be held on Saturday, June 16 from noon to 6:00 p.m. at his home in Bentley, 4838 50th Avenue. His internment will follow on Thursday, June 21 at 11 a.m. at the St. Anne's Catholic Cemetery in Trochu. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dennis' memory to the Red Deer and District SPCA.
