ST DENYS 1920 - 2009 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mrs. Rose St Denys on Wednesday June 10th, 2009 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital the age of 88 years. Rose is survived by her loving son Neil (Mary) of Red Deer, AB, and her two grandchildren; Vicki St Denys of Toronto, ON, and Michael St Denys of Red Deer, AB. as well as one great-grandson Kai St Denys of Red Deer, AB. Rose will also be lovingly missed by her brother-in-law Sam (Joan) Nelson of Caroline, AB. as well as numerous nieces and nephews from across Canada. Rose also leaves to mourn her passing; her bingo companion Rose and her casino partner Elsie. Rose was predeceased by her husband Clem in 1966, two brothers; Nelson and Neil Odell, and her three sisters; Ruby Hickle, Phyllis Kanten, and Lois LeFevre. Rose was born in Kincaid, Saskatchewan in 1920 , and as a young girl she moved to Caroline, Alberta where she met her soul mate Clem St Denys, whom she married several years later. She was from a family of two brothers and three sisters. Rose was a member of The Red Deer Senior Citizens Downtown House and the Red Deer Ladies Auxiliary, Branch # 35. She spent many hours volunteering, until her poor health made it almost impossible. A Memorial Service in Rose's Honour will be held on Tuesday June 16th, 2009 at 3:30p.m. at Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 - 67 A Street, Red Deer, AB., with a Memorial Tea to follow. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date. Condolences may be forwarded to the family at www.parklandfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Rose's memory may be to The Red Deer Senior Citizen's Downtown House, 5414 - 43 Street, Red Deer, AB, T4N 1C9. In living memory of Rose St Denys, a tree will be planted in the Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium Memorial Tree Park in the Red Deer County, AB.
