Devon SMITH

August 17, 2006

SMITH, Devon Scott It is with our deepest and profound sadness to announce the sudden and tragic passing of our dear son, brother, grandson, and friend. Devon was born in Red Deer on June 12, 1984 and was the beloved son of Laurie Hengstler and Bruce Smith. His passion in life was motorcycle riding and on Friday, August 11, 2006 while riding with the wind in his hair and the rain in his face, Devon's life ended suddenly. The Gates of Heaven opened much too early for our son. He was our shining light who felt at ease showing his affection with a heartfelt hug or kiss. His sisters Carley and Lisa as well as brothers Dustin and Clinton will miss his laughter, companionship, and support. As well as the family, his big heart also reached out to cousins Matt and Michelle, Grandma, and girlfriend Justine. He was very loyal to those who called him a friend. Devon was a fun loving person who enjoyed life, had an ease with animals, loved his cat, and was at his best while riding his motorbike. He is predeceased by his Grandfather (Al Hengslter) and Uncle Don, his motorcycle friend. He will be forever remembered lovingly by all he touched or knew. A celebration of Devon's short life will be held at The Crossroads Church, 38105 Range Road 275, Red Deer, AB, on Friday, August 18, 2006 at 1 pm. If desired, memorial donations can be made in Devon's honor to the SPCA. Viewing time is prior to the service from 11:30 - 12:30 p.m. at Crossroads Church. Condolences can be directed to the family at cjwellon@shaw.ca.
