Dewey MARSHALL

MARSHALL Dewey Marshall was born on September 17, 1939 and passed away suddenly at home on August 4, 2009. He was the oldest son of Roosevelt and Bessie Marshall. He will be affectionately remembered by his loving wife Ruth Marshall, of 47 years. His son Greg (JoAnn) Marshall, his daughter Glenda (Jim Dahl) Johnston, grandchildren Kody (Kayla Prime) Ramstad, Cory Ramstad, Jayson (Nicole Sideritsch) Marshall, Amanda Marshall, Dillon Johnston, Ashley Johnston, and Trevor Dahl. Great granddaughters Emma and Madison Ramstad, brother Dale (Connie) Marshall, Brothers In Law, Dave (Evelyn) Rachar, Lloyd (Helen) Rachar, Harold Boyce, Roger Olson, Sisters In Law Grace (Wayne) Green, Betty (Ron) Kessler, Anna Mae Rachar, Judy (Ed) Bierbach, Audrey (Steve) Brodersen and long time friend Norm Johnston. He was predeceased by his parents, granddaughter Bobbi-Sue Marshall, Brothers In Law, Chuck Rachar, Elmer Holte, Mike Rachar, Sisters In Law, Dorothy Boyce, Marion Holte, Evie Rachar and Donna Olson as well as many others too numerous to mention. Dewey was a person that touched so many lives. He was very involved in the community. His family was his pride and joy. He loved going camping, fishing and watching his children and grandchildren at any activity they were in whether sports, 4-H or piano. He was always looking forward to the family reunions. No one was safe from a ribbing from Dewey. Funeral services were held on August 10, 2009 at the Stettler Community Hall with Rev. Barbara Zimmerman officiating. Pianist Evelyn Strandquist played for the congregational hymns. Albert Smith, Amanda Marshall and Glenda Johnston all gave loving tributes in memory of Dewey. Karalee Andrus sang "Go Rest High On That Mountain" as a tribute to her Uncle Dewey. A slide presentation was presented by Amanda Marshall, Ashley Johnston and Alexi Hiller. Jayson Marshall was Pallbearer and Honorary Pallbearers were The Erskine Baseball Team, Dairy Queen Blizzards and Almech Hockey Team; Dewey was laid to rest at Liberal Cemetery. Family and friends gathered at the Community Centre for a time of fellowship and refreshments supplied and served by the Nevis Community Ladies and friends.
