August 26, 1952 - December 29, 2021
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Diane Lynn Morris in Red Deer, Alberta, on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the age of 69 years.
Diane was born in Fort William, Ontario on August 26, 1952. She was also known by the nickname her dad gave her of 'Dumpy' and was called that for many years, into her teens.
When she was four years old, the family moved to Drayton Valley, Alberta; where she started school and then to Lacombe, Alberta, where she finished her schooling. Diane was a 'Daddy's girl' from day one, which never changed.
Diane spent many summers at Gull Lake, Alberta, swimming and camping and ice skating during the winter.
After her school years, Diane moved to Red Deer, Alberta and got a job building mobile homes at Travelaire and Fleetwood. Diane was handy with tools and could fix almost anything.
In the 1980's, Diane moved on to Acklands in Red Deer; as a service Truck Driver and then ventured on to century sales in Edmonton, at the Service Counter. Diane then moved closer to family in Devon, Alberta, where she managed an A&W.
Diane loved to travel. She visited Cuba, Hawaii, California, and cruised to Alaska. Although she suffered with Multiple Schlerosis for the last twelve years of her life, she never let her disabilities slow her down. Diane's legs may not have worked but her mind and wit were always sharp.
Diane had her opinions and always shared them; whether you wanted to hear them or not, and was just like her Dad. She was a 'Straight Shooter', to the point, honest and never sugar coated anything.
Diane would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. If you were Diane's friend, she would protect you like a momma bear, she was fearless.
Diane laughed easily and cried easily. Diane always had many friends over the years, Edna, Connie and Cora, and in particular, Connie, who was her caregiver, each giving their all for each other.
She will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Florence (Glenn) Hunt of Eckville, Alberta; as well as numerous aunts, her nephew, Chris Hunt and many cousins. Diane was predeceased by her mother and father.
As per Diane's wishes, there will be no service and she will be interred with her parents in Lacombe, Alberta, at a later date. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed at www.parklandfuneralhome.com
