1946 - 2014

Dianna Mae McDougall of Ponoka, formally of Red Deer, passed away following a brief but valiant battle with cancer at the Ponoka General Hospital on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at the age of 68 years. Dianna was born in 1946, the oldest of five children, to Ken and Vicky Holden. She worked in the meat department of the Port-O-Call Safeway in Red Deer for many years. While working full- time, Dianna raised her two children, managed to always have a full homemade supper every night and kept her home immaculate both inside and out. Her yard always had beautiful flowers and was the best- kept lawn in the neighborhood. After taking early retirement, Dianna and Gary enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling to Yuma, AZ as snowbirds. Dianna is survived by her daughter Kelly Carlile; her son Kim Hagerty; their father Ron Hagerty; granddaughters Krysta Shippelt (Ryan); Chantelle Carlile (Craig); Kiara Carlile and great- granddaughter Aaralee Shippelt who was Dianna's "ray of sunshine". Also left to cherish Dianna's memory are her sister Carol Arden; brothers Harold (Judy) Holden, Rod (Pat) Holden; her special cousin and BFF Debbie Zwack, Gary's daughter Allison as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Dianna was predeceased by her parents Ken and Vicky Holden, her sister Bev Anderson and more recently by her best friend and husband, Gary McDougall. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Dianna's life being held at the Ponoka Legion, 3911 - 2A Hwy, Ponoka, AB on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 between the hours of 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm. Casual attire is suggested. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to the Ponoka Health Foundation (Ponoka Hospital Palliative Care Unit), 5800 - 57 Avenue, Ponoka AB T4J 1P1.
