WILKENING, Dieter Paul Dieter Paul Wilkening, fondly known at "Dietz" went to be with His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, August 6, 2004 at the age of 20 years. Dieter was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, on April 25, 1984. Dieter and his family have resided in Red Deer, Alberta for the past 14 years. Dieter attended G. W. Smith Elementary, West Park Middle, and Hunting Hills High schools. After a year of college, Dieter went to work with his Dad at Peridot Group. Dieter enjoyed golfing with his Dad, helping and spending time with his Mom, hanging out with his best friend and brother Derek, hunting and fishing with his uncles, riding his motorcycle with friends, and teaching Sunday School to Grade 1 & 2 boys. Dieter loved little children and held a special place in the hearts of his younger cousins. He also enjoyed baseball and hockey. Dieter was thoughtful, affectionate, compassionate, responsible, and determined and will be forever loved and missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known him. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Bill and Jean Wilkening (McCutcheon), his brother Derek Wilkening, as well as his grandparents, Agnes Wilkening of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and Orville and Mary McCutcheon of Outlook, Saskatchewan; and his uncles and aunts, Karen (Dave) Cerkoniak of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Ray Wilkening of Grand Prairie, Dave (Linda) Wallace, Duane (Lucy) Wallace, Bob (Anne) Cook and Richard (Linda) Cook of Lloydminster, Helen (Brian) Edmonds of Brooks, David (Barb) McCutcheon of Ardath, Lois (Curt) Jensen of Milden, Donna (Tim) Heywood of Milden and Ann (Barry) Rogers of Loon Lake, Saskatchewan and numerous cousins, very special friends Kelly and Marcia Martin and girls and many other friends. Friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 - 67A Street, Red Deer, Alberta. (1 block north of 67th Street on Taylor Drive) on Wednesday, August 11, 2004 from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the CrossRoads Church, 38105 Range Road 275, Red Deer County (on 32nd Street, west of Hwy. 2) on Thursday, August 12, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Vergil Schmidt officiating.
