Donald BALDERSON

July 24, 2006

BALDERSON Donald Dean It is with much sadness the family of Donald Dean Balderson announces his passing on July 20 at the age of 80. Don will always be remembered for his dedication to his Lord and Saviour as well as his commitment to family, friends and those he came to know throughout his business career years. Before venturing into his independent accounting practice, Don was employed with the Red Deer General Hospital as the Head of Finance from the mid 60's until 1972. Don and his twin sister, Dorothy, were born May 26, 1926, in the Acme/Bircham area to parents, Amos and Annie Balderson. His surviving sisters are Mary Poffenroth, Pearl (Stan) Buckler, Pat Aull, and Dorothy (a.k.a. Dolly) Erickson from Calgary, and Jessie Troxell from Sparks, Nevada. His surviving brothers are Jack and Charles (Dorothy) Balderson from the Acme area. Don also leaves behind many nieces and nephews too numerous to mention here. Don always enjoyed sharing time with his 15 siblings and their families at family events and gatherings. One could often find Don working on home projects, furthering his education, or studying God's work. His love and appreciation for the mountains, wildlife and other scenic spots was demonstrated in the many trips he took to the Banff area to snap photos. Don was predeceased by his parents, 2 brothers, 4 sisters, son, Dean (1967), and Grandson, Denny (1978). He leaves behind 3 surviving children, Donna Barton, Bryan (Wilma) Balderson of Red Deer and Daryl (Sarita) Balderson of Calgary, 7 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Crossroads Church, 38105, Range Rd. 275 on Tuesday, July 25 at 1 p.m., Pastor Ken Lehman officiating. In lieu of flowers, one may make a donation to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
