October 16, 1921 - June 20, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donald Curry Laubman on June 20, 2018 at age 96. Don was born in Provost, AB on October 16, 1921. He was the eldest of seven children and is survived by three siblings: Wally, Jim, and Ken. Don's wife, Margaret (nee Gibson) died on Nov. 11, 2000. Don and Margie are survived by two children, 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Don had a distinguished career in the RCAF serving from 1940 to 1972. He was a fighter pilot during WW2. He completed his post-war service with the rank of Lt-General as the Chief of Personnel at CFHQ. Don opened a Canadian Tire store in Red Deer in 1979. He was very active in the Red Deer community.

A joint Celebration of Life for Don and Margie will be held on June 30, 2018 at the Red Deer Sheraton Hotel, in the Florence Room from 2 to 5pm. Family and friends are welcome to celebrate with us. Memorial donations may be made to Red Deer Regional Hospital Foundation.
