Don passed away at Rimbey Hospital with his family at his side after a short illness on August 23, 2018.
Don was born and rasied in the Eckville area, he attended school at Bluebell and Lindsey Thurber. Don was a hardworking man some of his most cherished memories are working as a millwright at Camp 15 Nordegg, AB and at home on the family farm which was what he lived for until his last days.
Don met and married the love of his life Stephanie Dobia in 1958, they raised three boys on the farm. Don loved to entertain his bartending skills were generous and the ole and helga jokes were endless. Don loved his comunity and had sat on many boards for different groups.
He was heavily involved in conservation including Hasen's reservoir which Don and Stephanie established, and enjoyed heading over to visit with fishermen from far and wide. Don and Stephanie loved to Camp and travel and made fast friends with many over the years. They very much took pride in their children and grandchildren. Don is predeceased by his son Gordon and his wife Stephanie. Don leaves behind Dale (Carla) Hansen, Gerry (Maureen) Hansen Grandchildren Garret, Justine, Delaney, Zach and Jack, Lauren Hansen and five great grandchildren. Sisters Myrtle Engen and Betty Kraft.
At Dons request there will be no service.
