October 4, 1963 - July 27, 2019
The bright light of Donna Marie (Comeau) Petersen unexpectedly and sadly extinguished on Saturday July 27, 2019. Donna was born on October 4, 1963 in Cold Lake and spent her school years in Trenton, Ontario. Packing her car as full as she could, her sense of adventure carried her to Alberta to make her home and eventually got her degree in dental hygiene. She later became a very talented interior designer.
Donna was so special and disarming. She drew people in instantly with her gentle chatter and humorous outlook on life. Whenever friends needed a laugh or someone to talk life with, Donna was there. She was not only a good friend, but she inspired many by the way she shaped her future and fearlessly moved to Kelowna to live in the beautiful Okanagan to support her love of hiking and the outdoors.
She is survived by her beloved daughter Jillian, the light of her life, her dad, Paul Comeau, brother Ken Comeau and was pre-deceased by her brother Michael and her mother Jeanine.
Excelling at parenting, Jillian was not only Donna's first priority but the centre of her world.
Donna also leaves many, many close friends. Being a phenomenal cook, she brought friends, family, wine, and then"tequila?"together, to surround herself with love and laughter. From babies to seniors and everyone in between, Donna shared all her love. Just to be in her presence, was to be loved.
Travel was a passion and the next trip was always being planned. Whether that was to Nova Scotia, to see family, Italy, with her good friends Sandy and Patti, or to Hawaii to hang out and stay warm, she lived every experience to the fullest.
A Celebration of Donna's life will be held 1:30 pm, Monday August 26, 2019 at Canyon Ski Hill, Red Deer, Alberta.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mamas for Mamas Kelowna,
Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre, or a charity of your choice that supports Donna's love for children.
