April 22, 1948 - November 10, 2021
It is with great sadness and sorrow that her loving husband, Gary, announces that his wife, Donna 'Gail' Marr (nee Neufeld), passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer, on Wednesday, November 10, 2021. Gail was born on April 22, 1948, the only daughter to Pete and Betty Neufeld of Aberdeen, Saskatchewan. Gail primarily received her education in Aberdeen. After completing High School, she joined the Royal Canadian Air Force. Her career took her to Cold Lake, Alberta; Baden, Germany; St. John's, Newfoundland and Ottawa, Ontario. During her tour in Germany, Gail met the love of her life, Gary and they were happily married for forty-eight years. Gail retired after twenty-eight years of service and settled in Red Deer. Two activities she was passionate about were reading and quilting. Every niece, nephew and great niece and nephew was lucky to be the recipient of a quilt made by their 'auntie Gail'. A highlight of her life was the quilting retreats she attended with her quilting friends. Gail will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Gary, her brothers, Jim (Alice), Barry (Diane), Hugh (Sarah), and Craig (Donna), her brothers-in-law, Jim (Wendy), Lynn (Diane), Brent (Denise), her sisters-in-law, Gail (Emile) and Linda; as well as extended family and friends. At Gail's request there will be no service, but a Private Family Interment will be held at the Hillcrest Cemetery, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The family would like to thank all the staff that cared for and supported Gail during her journey in the Calgary Foothills Hospital, Unit 32 of the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre and the Red Deer Hospice.
