KANNGIESSER (nee Key) Doreen Gladys 1931 - 2009 DOREEN beloved wife of JACK (JJ) KANNGIESSER passed away peacefully on March 1, 2009, after 78 well lived years. There are no good-byes, where ever we are, you will be. Doreen's spirited life began on a farm in the Iowalta District near Lacombe Alberta, to Opal and Fredrick Key. On October 8, 1953 Doreen proudly married John Joseph (Jack) Kanngiesser, marking the start of a 55 year journey that included the birth of their four children: Craig, Jay, Jackie, and Lynn. Doreen was fiercely proud of her family and considered them her greatest accomplishment. Seemingly ordinary acts now linger in our minds. A well kept home, a show piece flower garden, a beautifully set table, fresh made buns, and the phrase "keep your fork" which always meant that something great was yet to come. These are the things we now hold close to our hearts as they were all small messages of love that are ours forever. Doreen is survived by her devoted husband Jack; children, Craig, Jay, and Jackie; five grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; her brother Raymond Key (and family); and numerous other relatives and friends. Doreen was predeceased by: parents Opal and Fred Key, and daughter Lynn Karen Kanngiesser. At Doreen's request no funeral services will be held. The family invites you to an informal gathering at Heritage Village 5300 48 Street, Red Deer Alberta, on March 5, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. to celebrate the life of Doreen.
