1917 - 2009
Mrs. Doris Frances Dearden passed away peacefully at the Three Hills Continuing Care Centre, Three Hills, Alberta on Friday October 9th, 2009 at the age of 91 years. Doris was born on December 14th, 1917 at Foremost, Alberta. She moved with her family to Fort William (Thunder Bay), Ontario when she was young, this was where she was raised and took her schooling. She met and married Alfred Dearden on June 15th, 1937 in Fort William, Ontario. They continued to reside in Fort William where they raised their son Jim. Doris remained in Fort William until Alfred’s passing. In 1979 she moved to Red Deer, Alberta to be near her family. She lovingly took care of the children of many prominent Red Deer families. Doris will be remembered for her love of sports, she was a devoted Red Deer Rebels fan; she also loved to bake for family and friends, and enjoyed walking until she broke her hip in 2005. Doris is survived by her loving son, Jim Dearden of Red Deer, Alberta, two grandchildren, Cindy (Pierre) Trepanier, and Scott Dearden both of Red Deer, Alberta, six great grandchildren, Shanelle, Tayler, Lindsey, Conner, Kristen, and Nikita, also her special friend Joan Bunio of Red Deer, Alberta. Doris will also be missed by her sister, Terry (John) Keip of Chilliwack, British Columbia, and brother, Donald (Margaret) McLean of Cultas, British Columbia, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Doris was predeceased by her husband Alfred in 1972, as well as her older sister Lola Forester. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Doris on Thursday October 22nd, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5508 - 48A Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta, at 11:00 a.m. Cremation entrusted to Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
