HAZLETT, Dorothy Ann

Sadly we announce the passing of Aunt Dot.

Dorothy was born in Red Deer to parents Bill and Sybil Hazlett and raised on the family farm. She attended Crossroads Country School then on to the Red Deer Convent for High School.

She received her Nursing Degree at the Holy Cross Hospital in Calgary.

Dorothy retired from the Foothills Hospital, Calgary in 1987 and moved into her new home overlooking Hazlett Lake and seriously pursued her interest in ornithology, traveling and entertaining.

She was an avid bird watcher and a large part of her life was spending time with her friends and being associated with Red Deer River Naturalists, Medicine River Wildlife Centre and Ellis Bird Farm to mention a few.

Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, sisters Lois and Sally and her brother-in-law Kenneth Morton.

Fondly remembered by her brother Geoffrey (Delaine) one niece Cara (Darin) Benoit and six nephews, Kalen (Tanya), Shawn, Greg (Nicolle), Jason (Toni Lee), Tim (Terra) and their families.

A special thank you to the staff at Covenant Care Villa Marie and her caregiver Darcy Mitchell.

Aunt Dot's request is that donations be made to Canadian Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Society.
