Dorothy HOPKINS

HOPKINS Dorothy Gertrude (Lowe) Hopkins passed away quietly in her home on April 10, 2007. Dorothy was born in Lacombe in 1938 and met and married her husband David Hopkins of Lacombe in 1956. Dave and Dorothy moved their family around the province between Grande Prairie and Edmonton before settling in Mirror, Alberta where they owned and operated an abattoir, Mirror Packers. It is in this quiet and peaceful locale that Dorothy lived out the rest of her time. Dorothy is survived by her husband David; her three sons and their families: Tim and Gail Hopkins of Lacombe, Ben and Lori Hopkins of Fort St. John, B.C. and Rob Hopkins of Red Deer; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; three bothers: Ralph Lowe of Carstairs, Don Lowe of Calgary and Norman Lowe of Buck Lake; as well as two sisters Betty Wulff of Red Deer and Thelma Snell of Lacombe. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at the Mirror Community Hall at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Canadian Cancer Society.
