Dorothy May (nee Oswell)

May 12, 1931 - August 13, 2014

Dorothy (Dot) Landin passed away peacefully at the Foothills Hospital on Wednesday, August 13th, 2014 at the age of 83 years. Born in Lloydminster, SK, Dot traveled the world and worked as a Registered Nurse across the United States and Western Canada. A lover of family and adventure, art and music, gardening and entertaining, she faced life with curiosity, humour, boundless compassion, quiet strength and determination. She is survived by her son Winston (Vancouver) and her daughter Aurora (Calgary) along with 'other sons' John and Jason Clark (Missouri). She is also survived by siblings and in-laws Lil and Des Beynon, Russ Neil, Maureen and Ron Harland, Gwen Cupples, Jean and Eugene Hilsendager, Guy and Cathy Oswell, Judith and Aurora Landin, Teresa Tellez, and fifty-one nieces and nephews, their spouses, children and grandchildren, along with so many loving friends. She is predeceased by her sister Liz Neil, brothers Walt and John Oswell, in-laws Marg and Charlotte Oswell, Wes Cupples, Antonio Landin, Armando Tellez and her ex-husband Salvador Landin. A Memorial Service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 4718 - 50 St. (Ross Street), Red Deer, AB, on Friday, August 22nd, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Dot's name to the Cystic Fibrosis Canada, 2221 Yonge St., Suite 601, Toronto, ON, M4S 2B4 or your local Women's Shelter. The family would also like to express our gratitude to the wonderful staff of the Maple Unit of Cedars Villa Extendicare in Calgary for all their loving care these past five years.
