Dorothy Schalin of Red Deer (Horizon Village), formerly of Pine Lake, passed away peacefully at her home on September 4, 2017, at the age of 92 years.

Left to cherish loving memories are children Patricia Cook, Connie (Robert) Schalin, Beverly (Bruce) Perry, Barry (Verna) Schalin, and Gail Zaleski, 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, brother Bernard Williams, sister June Saunders, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Predeceased by parents Richard and Winifred Williams, husband Milton, brothers George and Reg, sister in-laws Nonie and Evelyn Williams, brother in-law Ernie Saunders, and daughter in-law Shirley Schalin.

Born in Viking, AB, on October 14, 1924, Dorothy married Milton of Olds, AB, in 1945. They farmed at Reed Ranch, East of Olds, until moving to Pine Lake in 1951 where they continued to farm and raised their five children. Dorothy taught at many schools throughout her career and completed her love of teaching in Delburne. She was very involved in the community and was often called upon to share her wealth of knowledge with many.

A celebration of Dorothy's life will be held at the Pine Lake Hub Community Centre on Sunday, September 17, 2017, at 2:00 p.m.
