SCHEERSCHMIDT Dorothy Verna Scheerschmidt, the youngest of six children, was born to Paul H. and Anna Scheerschmidt on March 31, 1937 in Stettler, AB. She passed away May 18, 2009 at the Stettler Health Care Centre. She received her schooling at the Kindergarten School adjacent to the family farm. After completing school, Dorothy moved to Edmonton, AB and worked for Gainers/Swifts for over 35 years. After working at other companies in Edmonton she relocated back to the farm in June 2003 and resided there until her passing. She worked very hard to keep the yards and property in tip top shape. Dorothy leaves to mourn her loss her sister Louise Fischer, brothers Norman (Kay) Scheerschmidt and James Scheerschmidt, all of Stettler, also many nieces and nephews and families. Dorothy was predeceased by her father Paul H. and mother Anna, brother Henry Scheerschmidt and sister Irene Benson, brothers-in-law Chris Fischer and Gene Benson, sisters-in-law Elaine Scheerschmidt and Ivy Scheerschmidt. A graveside service will be held Friday, May 29 at 2 p.m at Lake View Cemetery. Reception and fellowship to follow at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church served by the ELW.
