STRAIN Dorothy Theresa It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Theresa Strain of Stettler, Alberta at the age of 80. Dorothy passed away quietly in her sleep on January 6, 2009 at their winter home in Roadhaven, Apache Junction, Arizona. Dorothy was born February 26, 1928 in Hazenmore, Saskatchewan to parents, Roy and Eva Harty. Married Bert May 7, 1949 in Lethbridge. They moved to Stettler in 1954. Dorothy is survived by husband, Bert Strain; children, Joan Uhrich (Ian), Rick Strain (Diane), Bob Strain (Jackie), Carolyn Cheetham (David), son-in-law, Garth Gunther, twelve grand- children; brother, Pete Harty. Dorothy was predeceased by their first child, Audrey Gunther; brothers, Roy and Jake and sisters, Magdalina, Julia, Christine, and Rose. Funeral Services will be held Saturday January 17, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Christ King Parish at 4916 54 St. Stettler, Alberta. Prayer services to be held Friday January 16, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. at Christ King Parish. Internment to be arranged at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Society, Heart Fund, STARS, Audrey Gunther Memorial Scholarship Trust Fund or Charity of your choice.
