D.M. was the third of four children born to Jessie Edgar and Luella Street. He married Ruby Harvey in 1945. To this union three children were born Janice, Bernie and Elton. D.M. lived and worked on the family farm until 1955, when he started to work for ESSO Pipeline in Redwater. He then went to work for United Grain Growers. While working for UGG the family moved and made friends in Namaka, Carmangay and Three Hills. D.M. and Ruby retired in Three Hills, moved to Kelowna and finally to Red Deer. D.M. leaves to mourn his sons, Bernie (Arleen) and Elton; three grandchildren, Cindy (Roger), Steven (Airyn) and Karla (Jonathan); five great grandchildren, Brody, Ryley, Sam, Kael and Maddox. He was predeceased by his wife, Ruby; daughter, Janice; his parents, Jessie and Luella; sisters, Mildred and Irene and his brother, Melvin. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Red Deer Funeral Home, 6150 - 67 Street, Red Deer, Alberta. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to STARS, 1441 Aviation Park NE, Box 570, Calgary, Alberta T2E 8M7.
