Douglas MANNING

MANNING, Douglas Mr. Douglas "Doug" Chester Manning passed away suddenly in Red Deer on January 20, 2005, at the age of 56 years. Doug was born on August 12, 1948 at Red Deer, Alberta. He loved to go fishing and to drive old junk cars. He was raised and educated in Delburne where he also farmed. Doug was the family historian and enjoyed talking about Central Alberta's past, especially Delburne. Doug had a very unselfish, gentle spirit. He will be sadly missed. He is survived by his daughters; Leanne Manning of Vancouver, Erin (Kent) Manning of Vancouver and Becky Manning of Edmonton, as well as the mother of his children; Betty Manning of Red Deer. Doug is also survived by his brothers; Bob (Helene) Manning of Delburne and Terry (Priscilla) Manning of Arkell, Ontario, his three grandchildren; Emily, Keely and Reily Courtice, his Aunt Barbara (Bernard) Bowlen of Amarillo, Texas as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Doug was predeceased by his parents Jack and Jean Manning as well as his two brothers; Teddy and Michael Manning. A Celebration of Doug's life will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapels, 4820 45th Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation entrusted to the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. If desired, memorial donations in Doug's honour may be made directly to the Canadian Mental Health Association, #4, 5015 48th Street, Red Deer, Alberta, T4N 1S9 or to S.T.A.R.S., Alberta Shock Trauma Air Rescue Foundation, 1441 Aviation Park, N.E., Calgary, Alberta, T2E 8M7.
