Dr. Nigel Davies

July 9, 1944 - February 18, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather and Captain in Her Majesty's Land Forces, Dr. Nigel Colin Maitland Davies, surrounded by his family and friends, at the Innisfail Health Centre, Innisfail, Alberta on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at the age of 75 years. Nigel was the treasured eldest son of Dr. Donald Davies and Dr. Winifred Davies. Nigel was born in Halifax, Yorkshire, England on June 9, 1944. While at the University of Manchester Medical School, Dr. Davies met his beloved soulmate, and married Mirja Helena in 1968. After emigrating in 1974, with small children, two dogs and a cat, Dr. Davies passionately served the community as a physician, for forty years, at the Innisfail Medical Clinic and Innisfail Health Centre. After fifty-two years of marriage, he will always be in the hearts of forever loved wife Mirja, their children, Corinda, Colin and Tamilla, granddaughter, Meagan, his adored pet, Pax and his family in England and Finland. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Innisfail Health Centre for their grace and compassion during his brief stay.

A Celebration of Nigel's Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 104, 5108 - 49 Avenue, Innisfail, Alberta on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 1:00 pm If desired, Memorial Donations in Dr. Davies's honour may be made directly to Cancer Research through the Alberta Cancer Foundation at www.albertacancer.ca.
