Tanis lived a full and productive life and will be forever indelibly printed on our hearts in our respective forevers.
Tanis was a chiropractor and teacher/coach. She was a solid example of excellence with total commitment. She expected nothing less from anyone crossing her path. Students were aware of her expectations. 'Go Big or Go Home' was her rallying cry for health, power skating, hockey, surfing, skiing and baseball, simply life in general. Her vitality was contagious.
Tanis is the wife of Duane, Mother to Teneal (Kolton), Deegan and Grady. Daughter of Dick and Jan. Sister to Tyson (Mel) and Aunt to Kaden, Kya (Lucas) and Payton (Logan). Granddaughter to Pat Setters. Maternal Uncles Byron (Melinda) Setters their family Casey (Jana) and family.
Caitlin (Justin) and family and Wilson Setters and his daughter Gracie. Paternal Uncle George (Brenda) Gehrke, their family Travis (Alan) and Janel. In-laws Gerald and Ann Mofford and their family. Brother Shane (Pascal), their family Lexie (Andrew) and their daughter and Brett have been family friends throughout life.
Tanis is also survived by her best friends, professional colleagues and loving caregivers throughout her cancer journey, Leanna St. Onge and her family Ray, Meagan, Quinn, Alexa and Shannon Brown, her family Blake and Blair. There is an extensive family of other cousins and many friends from the hockey and surfing communities.
We thank all who contributed in her attempt to be well. She was lovingly cared for in her own home with the help of Home Care as well as in our Rocky Mountain House Hospital by people who offered support and encouragement.
Her journey didn't turn out as we wished, tenderly, such is life. The sun will come up tomorrow and we will carry on in our pursuit of the dreams inspired and shared with our wife, mom, sister, extended family, and friends.
A celebration of Tanis's life will be held at the Lou Soppit Community Center, Rocky Mountain House, Alberta on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at 2 pm.
