DUNKLE Mr. Harry Joseph Dunkle, beloved husband of Mrs. Ina Dunkle of Red Deer, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness at Bethany CollegeSide, Red Deer on Sunday, July 10, 2005 at the age of 78 years. Harry was born on December 31, 1926 at Castor, Alberta, to Frank and Eva Dunkle. He spent all his early years there, attending Lauderdale and Theresetta Catholic Schools. In 1950, Harry married Ina Dartt of Halkirk, Alberta. Harry and Ina, along with their six children moved to Red Deer in 1966, where Harry spent an enjoyable twenty-six years working at Michener Centre in the Therapeutic Recreation Department. Harry will be fondly remembered by many as an avid sports fan and a known practical joker. His flair for barbecue roasts, clam chowder and casseroles will be missed. Harry will be fondly remembered for his love of the simple things in life and his quiet, gentle and always humble manner. “Our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and trusted friend” – you will be very sadly missed but lovingly cherished in our hearts forever. Harry leaves to mourn his loss, his loving wife of fifty-five years, Ina; his daughter, Dixie and her daughter, Lauren of Calgary, Alberta; daughter-in-law, Barb and her son, Kyle (Kristy) of Red Deer, as well as her son, Sean (Jolene) and their children, Gabe and Quinn of Marion, Iowa; his three sons, Allan (Kris) and their children, Nicholas and Stephanie of Hamilton, Bermuda, Darcy (Joanne) and their son, Tanner of Red Deer and Travis (June) and their children, Dixon, Kennedy and Samantha of Calgary. He will also be sadly missed by his sister, Rosina of Calgary, sister-in-law, Verna of Castor, as well as numerous other family members, nieces, nephews and dear friends. Harry was predeceased by two sons, Kendall Angus in 1997, Billy-Jo in 1982 and three brothers, Frank, Lawrence and William. Prayers will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820 – 45th Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5508 – 48A Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Thursday, July 14, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with The Reverend Father Donald Stein celebrant. Interment will follow at the Alto-Reste Cemetery, Red Deer, Alberta.
