DYE Mr. Robert George ‘Bob’ Dye of Red Deer, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Wednesday, September 21, 2005 at the age of 76 years. Robert was born on June 3, 1929 at his grandparent’s home near Langdon, Alberta to the late Roger Dean Dye and Viola May Fridley. He was raised on the family farm near Alix with his six older sisters, Winnie, Edna, Ruby, Gladys, Dorothy and Betty and his twin brother, Roger. Robert married Deloris Patricia Youngstrom on August 31, 1957. Later the marriage was solemnized in the Cardston, Alberta Temple. The couple shared forty-eight wonderful years together. Robert was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a finishing carpenter and a true craftsman, a trade which he learned from his stepfather, Joseph Cowan. Everything he made was of the highest quality and workmanship. As a carpenter he helped build many homes, businesses and churches in Red Deer. Robert was a gifted musician who thoroughly enjoyed sharing his talent, playing for dances throughout Central Alberta. He was an active member of the Red Deer 3rd Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Like his father, Robert was a man of sterling integrity and was always cheerful and positive. He will be forever remembered for his sense of humor, devotion to his wife and strong faith. He leaves a wonderful legacy of love for his family. Robert leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, Deloris ‘Dodi’; his children, Lorraine (Alan) Poytress of Fort Macleod, Jo-Anne (Bruce) Hallman of Red Deer, Carmen (Geary) Howe of Red Deer, Heather (Darren) Miller of Kelowna, Jennifer (Gary) Motley of Innisfail, thirty-one grandchildren and four great grandchildren, as well as numerous relatives and dear friends. Robert was predeceased by his parents, his sister, Edna and two grandchildren, Daniel and Rebecca. All are welcome to come and pay their respects one hour prior to the Funeral Service. A Public Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2005 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3002 – 47th Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Alto-Reste Cemetery, Red Deer, Alberta.
