With deepest regret, we announce the passing of a very special and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Edith Ellen (Nellie) Moore passed away Saturday, October 31, 2009 at the Red Deer Hospice at the age of 94. Born in Leslieville, Alberta on August 9, 1915, she was the youngest daughter of Fred and Sarah Hart. She grew up in Leslieville and went to work in Ridgewood where she met Oswald Moore. They were married August 2, 1937 in Ridgewood where they resided and farmed all their lives. She was an active member of the Ridgewood WI for over 55 years and loved quilting, gardening and all sports. Nellie will be lovingly remembered by her family of 5 children-Dorothy (Neal) Bickley of Ridgewood, Audrey Morphy and Keith of Gibbons, AB, Gladys (Mike) Carriere of Red Deer, Ted (Pat) Moore of Red Deer and Patrick (Bev) Moore of Ridgewood, 15 grandchildren and their spouses, 21 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Oswald Moore, two sisters, Mae Beno and Amy Prendergast, one grandson and 2 great grandsons. A Memorial Service for Nellie will be held at the Ridgewood Hall on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 2 pm. Donations in memory of Nellie Moore may be made to the Red Deer Hospice Society, 99 Arnot Avenue, Red Deer, AB, T4R 3S6. Arrangements entrusted to Personal Alternative Funeral Services.
