Edna HANSEN

December 29, 2005

HANSEN, Edna It is with great sadness that the children of Edna Hansen (Doyle, Mark & Cheryl Hansen), announce that our Mom passed away peacefully and without any pain on Christmas Day 2005. Her 110 day courageous battle with the almost undiagnoseable, untreatable and uncureable disease known as A.L.S., more commonly know as "Lou Gehrig's Disease" took place on ward "33", ending on the "Palliative Ward 32". Our Mom taught us many lessons through our life, but the most important lesson was the last lesson. Be sure to spend as much quality time with relatives, friends and loved ones, since no one knows when the last visit will be, and we have had ours. A formal obituary will follow in the next couple of days. On behalf of our Mom, Edna Hansen, and her children (Doyle, Mark & Cheryl Hansen) a big thank to all the people from the kitchen staff, housekeeping staff, all of LPNs and RNs and a special thank you to Dr. Brown, Dr. Heinrichs and Sandy Newans. I know all of you enjoyed Mom's company and you all displayed the outmost professionalism in your individual fields of expertise. By Mom's handing out Halloween candy on the wards and slippers to everyone, you are right, she was like that healthy or dying, she is truly one-of-a-kind! Thank you to everyone else that helped out on the wards of "33 and 32" at the Red Deer Regional Hospital.
