JUDSON

Edna

1930 - 2014

Mrs. Edna Sophia Judson (nee Edl) passed away after a brief stay at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, battling with cancer on the morning of Friday, October 17, 2014 at the age of 84 years. Edna was born on April 2, 1930 at Eckville, Alberta to parents, Joseph and Avelyn Edl. She grew up in the Evergreen District, the eldest of three children. This was where she met her husband of sixty-two years, Derrick Judson. The couple went on to live a happy, busy life, raising three children; Myles, Neil and Tina. Edna loved arts and crafts. She was always creating ceramics, wooden carvings, porcelain and china dolls, knitting and crocheting until her arthritis hindered her too much. As Edna's family grew, she enjoyed watching all of the children's, grandchildren's and great grandchildren's activities. These activities were wide ranging; from horseback riding and hockey, to music recitals. Over the years, she became an avid sports fan. Many a time, she was caught watching football on the television. Edna also loved to visit and play cards with her large extended family and friends. Edna spent many years working in the local stores where she became known to many people in the community and kept those ties throughout her life. Edna will be lovingly remembered by her three children and their families; Myles Judson and his daughters, Brandi (Patrick) Enger, Lindsey and Dalyce; Neil (Lorrie) Judson and their sons, Kory and Shawn (Lana); and Tina (Wes) Thiel and their children, Matthew, Marc and Nicolette; as well as her great grandchildren, Emersen Judson, Brody and Sydnee Judson and Kaden and Karsen Judson. She will also be sadly missed by her brother, Ed Edl and numerous other family and many dear friends. Edna was predeceased by her loving husband, Derrick on February 11, 2013, her parents, a sister, Rose and a brother, Albert. A Celebration of Edna's Life will be held at Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 - 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, October 24, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. If desired, Memorial Donations in Edna's honor may be made directly to the Eckville Manor House, P.O.
