Mr. Eduardo Selga Padilla passed away, surrounded by his loving family, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Friday, January 10, 2020 at the age of 97 years. Eduardo was born in Tubao, La Union, Philippines on October, 15, 1922. He lived to be a successful farmer, and politician. Eduardo joined the resistance against Japan in WWII; and was elected as a Municipal Councilor from 1968 - 1983; at which time he moved his family to Canada. He was a devoted Catholic and raised his family in the Catholic Faith. Eduardo will be very deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his children, Arsenio (Mauricia) Padilla, Diego (Lourdes) Padilla, Cirilo (Delia) Padilla, Criselda (Conrado) Gundram, Virgilio (Virginia) Padilla, Arturo (Rowena) Padilla, Evelyn Padilla, Rudolfo ( Teresita) Padilla, Marie Padilla, Florante (Marilou) Padilla, and Victoria Padilla and Patricia Padilla; his twenty-one grandchildren, Mark (Jonex), Michael (Vanna), Daniel, Darlene (Emil), Sheryl (Victor), Cyril, Don, Michael Fritz, Nessa Mae, Shane, Nigel, Nathan, Patrick (Lauren), Traena Julienne, Jennifer (Mohamed), Krystal (Gabe), Trisha (Henry), Trina, Fitzgerald, Philip Joshua and Richard and his ten great grandchildren, Alex, Layla, Bella Hope, Emilene, Kaden, Izaiah, Atlas, Trayce, Amara and Federico; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and distant relatives, and dear friends. Eduardo was predeceased by his loving wife Juliana in March 2002. A Public Viewing will be held at Parkland Funeral Home, 6287 - 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer, Alberta on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. Prayers will be held at Parkland Funeral Home, Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, January 17, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5508 - 48A Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. with The Reverend Father Jan Sobkowicz Celebrant.
