Edwin John

Oct. 8,1956 - Dec. 23, 2009

Ed passed away suddenly at the Red Deer Hospital after a very short battle with Cancer. Ed was born in Kindersley, Saskatchewan on October 8, 1956 to Emma and Bernard Hogan. Ed is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Barb; his three daughters, Cheyney, Shayla and Cassidee; his mother, Emma Clark; his brother Kim (Brenda) Hogan; his sister Patti (John) Wierenga, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and one special great niece, Taylor. He was predeceased by his father, Bernard Hogan; his Mother-in-law, Bettylou Liska; his sister-in-law, Ronda Thompson; his niece, Shantelle Storseth and his special dog, "Buddy". Ed married Barb October 14, 1989 in Red Deer, Alberta. Shortly after, they moved to Edmonton where they had their three wonderful daughters who were his "Three Little Angels". He spent 5 years in Edmonton, and then moved back to Red Deer. Ed continued to work in Edmonton for 6 years as a property Manager, he then rediscovered his passion for driving truck. That is when he went to work for BJ Services, which he excelled successfully at. Ed loved travelling with his job but did miss being at home with his family. Ed was a very loving husband and father who will be loved dearly and forever missed. His daughters will always remember his as the "Daddy who always said yes". His wife will always remember his as a wonderful, amazing husband who she will have a very hard time living without. A special thank you to Terry, Bev, Alice and all the other nurses on Unit 32. You were all wonderful and we appreciated the love and concern you showed Ed and our family during our time of need. A memorial service will be held at the Ft. Assiniboine Legion on December 30, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Donations may be made in Ed's name to a charity of your choice. Condolences can be forwarded to the family by visiting:
