WARDEN

Edwin Roy Warden passed away suddenly at his home in Penhold at the age of 70 years. He is survived by his loving children; Tammie Warden, Jason Warden, and Trevor Warden, children of Gail Elaschuck. Edwin was born July 2, 1939 and was a gentle and loving man. His life, whatever hardships were involved, was one filled with smiles and laughter. From an early age he always loved sports, a excelling at many, although hockey was his favorite, and his team rain or shine was always was always the Toronto Maple Leafs. He always made time to go to the rink and shoot the puck. He was not a man content with being sedentary and would always fill his days with visiting friends, a swim in the pool, or riding his bike. Although he retired from a long standing position with the City of Red Deer at the age of 55 anyone who had known Ed would never say he was really retired. From his parents Roy and Rose Warden, Ed also inherited a love of music (he could never pass by a guitar without playing a few chords), a love he enthusiastically shared with his children. His favorite singer was Hank Williams but there were many songs on the radio he knew all the words to. Edwin is also survived by grandchildren Justin Jarvis and Nicholas Brunner. Trevor and Magdelena Warden were expecting a third grandchild literally any day when he passed which Ed was very excited about. Edwin was predeceased by brothers Dick, Bill and Bruce. His surviving brothers and sisters are Horace, Shirley, Trina, Elsie and Shelly; and several nieces and nephews are in our thoughts on this very regretful day. Ed was very dedicated and loving to all his family and there will always be an empty space in out hearts where he used to be. Memorial service will be announced at a later date.
