August 2, 1930 - February 14, 2019
Mrs. Eileen Mary Darlington (nee Anderson), died peacefully in Red Deer Hospital on Feb. 14, 2019 in Red Deer, Alberta at the age of 88.
Eileen is survived by her sister, Winifred Pedersen of Red Deer; Nephew, Kris Pedersen of Kamloops, Nieces, Dawn Devlin of Kelowna, Lynda Bowors of Red Deer and Laura Ansley of North Vancouver; 12 Great Nieces & Nephews and 17 Great, Great Nieces & Nephews and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Darlington of Elnora and her parents, John & Winifred Anderson. Eileen was born on Aug. 2, 1930 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to John & Winifred Anderson.
She married John Darlington in 1972. Family was a very important part of Eileen's life. John & Eileen had no children but were an integral part of the Pedersen family. She became a 2nd parent to them and as they grew and moved away, she was always a welcome member at all of their tables.
Eileen was accomplished at secretarial/bookkeeping and spent many years in the field. She volunteered at Salem Acres in the office, keeping diligent records. She was a kind hearted, generous individual who loved animals but especially cats and who was passionate about supporting many organizations that protected, spoke up for and looked after their needs. She was an active and dedicated member of the Deep Cove Gospel Hall, Fleetwood Assembly & Salem Acres Bible Camp and volunteered at the Elnora Library.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019 at 2:00pm at Red Deer, Bethany Collegeside 99 College Circle, Red Deer, with a reception to follow at same location (CPD room). Rev. Dave will officiate the ceremony.
All are welcome to attend and celebrate Eileen's life.
