HODGKINSON

Eileen (nee Gardener)

July 14, 1920 - Oct 27, 2009

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our dear mother, Eileen Hodgkinson. She will be truly missed by daughter, Terry (Jack) of Red Deer and sons, Roy (Shirley) of Calgary, Rick (Margaret) of Oakville, ON. and Randy (Sandra) of Peace River. Eileen was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bill and six brothers and sisters. Eileen was the proud and loving grandmother to Lindsay, Ladeen, Erin, Bobby, Jeffery, Christa, Richard, and Lisa, and great grandmother to Alexis and Madison. Born in Peace River, Alberta, Eileen worked for the Land Office until she married William Charles (Bill) Hodgkinson in 1949. She was a homemaker, worked side by side with Bill in the family business, H & S Music, and was active in the community including the P.R. Ski Club, Women's Institute, and the Anglican Church choir. In retirement Eileen and Bill lived in Salmon Arm, BC, and Lacombe, Alberta before moving to Red Deer. For the last 4 years she lived at Masterpiece Aspen Ridge (Club Sierra) in Red Deer, where she thoroughly enjoyed participating in various activities. Special thanks to the staff at Club Sierra for their loving care. She lived her life with vigor and without complaint, and always had a heartfelt smile for everyone. The family would like to invite family & friends to join us in a Celebration for Eileen to be held at the Holiday Inn, 6500- 67 St., Red Deer, Alberta on Sunday November 8, 2009 from 1:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
