Eileen Moltzahn Eileen Moltzahn (nee Kane), of Fort Macleod, beloved wife and mother, quietly passed away at the Fort Macleod Hospital on Monday, April 6th, 2009 at the age of 75 years. Eileen was born May 15, 1933, on a farm near Ponoka to Anna and Johnston Kane. She attended grade school there and went to the U of A in 1950 where she received her teacher certification and then taught in one-room schoolhouses in Tees and Bentley. In 1953 she married Julius Moltzahn of Bashaw, had 2 children, and settled in Fort Macleod in 1958. While teaching full-time, she took night and summer session courses and received her Bachelor of Education degree in 1975 from the U of L. A dedicated teacher, she taught mostly Grade One for 31 years in Fort Macleod. Eileen was very involved in the community contributing to many organizations and taking numerous craft classes. Once she and her family moved to an acreage in 1969, she could indulge in her love of wildlife and gardening. Eileen was caring and loyal and loved by all her knew her. She is survived and will be greatly missed by her daughter, Kathy (Brian) Shore of Calgary, son, Brian (Patricia) Moltzahn of Nobleford; grandchildren, Graham Shore, Andrew Shore, Lee Moltzahn, Megan Shore, Adam Moltzahn and Devon Moltzahn; sister, Ethel (Dennis) Schickerowsky, brothers, Dave (Jeanne) Kane and Bob (Edith) Kane. Eileen was predeceased by her mother in 1959, sister, Verna in 1968, father in 1988, niece, Colleen Provost in 2004, and husband in 2006.
