HICKS, Eleanor Anne

We mourn the passing of our wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Eleanor died peacefully at Michener Extendicare. She was born at a rural property in Sinnett, SK. to Stoney and Anna Helgason. She took her grade school in Smeaton, SK. and attended business college in Prince Albert. She then worked in L.I.D. offices in Saskatchewan until she married Tom (Bud) Hicks in 1954 and raised four children. Mom was known for her baking, cooking, and enjoying her social groups including her Bridge ladies and the Koffee Klatch. Eleanor spent many years as a volunteer including the John Howard Society and Sunnybrook United Church.

Eleanor is survived by her husband of 63 years, Bud, her children Doug Hicks, Glenn (Diane) Hicks, Donna (Frank) Kooiman, and grandchildren: Jordan Faulkner, Cody and Jesse Hicks, Dustin Hicks and Andrew, Emma, Ava and Katana Kooiman. She is also survived by her sister Joyce (Jim) Sweeney of Prince George, Brother Jerry Helgason of Hillcrest, AB., sisters-in-law Yvonne Helgason of Prince Albert, Doreen Lee and Edna Mollison of Choiceland, SK. and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her son Roy Hicks, brother Gordon Helgason, sister Lil Jakins and her parents.
