Eleanor COOK

COOK Eleanor Alice Cook of Red Deer passed away at Valley Park Manor on October 22, 2007 at the age of 93 years. Eleanor was born on March 30, 1914 in Bashaw, Alberta. She was a school teacher and taught in the one-room schools for many years at Jarvis Bay, Ibsen, and Donalda. Eleanor and her husband, Jack, were long-time farmers in the Donalda area. They moved to Red Deer in 1974. During their retirement years they enjoyed traveling to many different places. They were members of the Golden Circle and enjoyed playing cards. Eleanor was talented at knitting and made all kinds of things. She will be lovingly remembered by her loving husband of 68 years, Jack Cook, two sons; Bob (Pat) Cook of Red Deer and Grant (Sharon) Cook of Edmonton, one daughter, Linda (Richard) Bennett of Sarasota, Florida. She is also survived by five grandchildren; Jamie Bennett, Jennifer Cook, Rachel Cook, Ron Cook and Bob Cook, two great grandchildren; Madeline and Oliver Bennett, one brother, David (Sylvia) Grant of Calgary as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Eleanor was predeceased by her parents, George "Fred" and Rachel Grant. A Funeral Service will be held at the Red Deer Funeral Home (6150 – 67 Street) on Thursday, October 25, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Don Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at the Alto-Reste Cemetery.
