Elizabeth "Beth"
Elizabeth Ion of Red Deer passed away at the Red Deer Hospice on Saturday, June 28, 2014. She was born on December 3, 1948 in Climax, SK, to Don and Mary Stewart. Beth attended school, grades 1 to 11, in Rolling Hills, AB, and grade 12 in Brooks, AB. She graduated from St. Michel's School of Nursing in Lethbridge, AB, in 1971 as a registered nurse. She worked in Brooks one year, then Bassano for 9 years, and then moved to Red Deer where she worked at the Red Deer Regional Hospital for 30 years. Beth is survived by her husband Sam; son Dallas, both of Red Deer; and sister Enid Stewart of Brooks. A Memorial Service for Beth will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820-45 Street, Red Deer, on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Donations in Beth's name may be made directly to the Salvation Army Red Deer, 2 Overlea Boulevard, Toronto, ONT, M4H 1P4.
