Elizabeth Marie Eddy

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth after a courageous battle with cancer. Elizabeth was born in Lacombe, attended Jones Valley and Satinwood Schools as well as Lacombe High School before graduating from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Education degree. She taught in a number of schools throughout Alberta and specialized in the teaching of reading. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Wesley, her brother Ernest (Marjorie) Russell, nephew David Russell, nieces Valerie(Mark) Cameron, Ellen (Owen) Pierson, Sarah Russell (Chris Adams) as well as great nieces Emma, Rebecca and Laura Cameron and great nephew Kurtus Pierson. Elizabeth was predeceased by her father and mother, John and Aina Russell, her sister Joyce Lowther and great nephew Colton Pierson. Elizabeth will be remembered as a very helpful and caring person who will be missed by her relatives and friends. The family would like to extend a thank you to Dr. Wildeboer and the staff of the Lacombe Hospital and everyone who was so supportive during this very difficult time. A funeral service will be held at Wilson's Funeral Chapel, 6120 highway 2A, Lacombe, AB. on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Lung Association of Alberta & N.W.T., P.O.
