MOTTUS, ELMER "SCOTTY" November 30, 1919 - September 13, 2005 After a long battle with various health problems, Scotty passed away on September 13, 2005 at the Clearwater Center in Rocky Mountain House, AB at the age of 85 years. He was born November 30, 1919 on the family homestead in the Gilby area. After finishing school and working locally he enlisted in the army. Scotty spent the war years serving in various countries in Europe and afterwards became a lifetime member of the Rocky Legion. In 1952 Scotty married Mae McGowan and after living and working in Rocky they settled on the family farm at Leslieville where they lived for 50 years. Scotty will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Sandra Mottus of Leslieville; son Allan (Karen) of Eckville; sister Adelle Herbert of Nanaimo, B.C.; 4 grandchildren Alexis (Brad) Cowling, Brittany & Megan Mottus, and Tanner Mottus; 4 great grandchildren Satcha, Cebastion & Gabrielle Cowling and Madeline Catellier; daughter-in-law Sarah; 3 sisters-in-law as well as numerous nieces, nephews, good friends and his dog "Buffy". Scotty was predeceased by his wife Mae; son Murray; 2 brothers Albert and Bob; 4 sisters Meta Dahl, Hilda Rein, Ella Sausler and Louise Swanson. At Scotty's request there will be no service held. A private family service will follow at a later date at the Leslieville Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations in Elmer "Scotty"' memory may be made to Good Samaritan Clearwater Centre, the Alberta lung Association or to the charity of the donor's choice.
