CHRISTIE (nee Steffensen) Elsa Marie 10 June 1936 - 03 January 2009 Elsa Marie Christie passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on Saturday the 3rd of January, 2009 at the age of 72 years. Elsa, daughter of Eda and Viggo Steffensen, was born and raised in Olds. She married Lorentz Christie of Innisfail in 1955 and together they began to raise their family while living on the family farm. In 1963 they moved to Red Deer where they lived until returning to the farm in 1985. Elsa worked for the Government of Alberta (Treasury Branch and the Motor Transport Department) from 1955 to 1991. Elsa was predeceased by her husband, Lorentz in January, 2008. Elsa was a loving mother and grandmother who will be sadly missed by her daughter and husband, Karen and Dale Horsley of Red Deer; son Kenneth Christie of Houston, Texas; and her five grandchildren, Mark, David and Paula Horsley; Karl and Hans Christie. She will also be sadly missed by her brother, Eric and wife Norma Steffensen of Cochrane; brother, John and wife Lil Steffensen of Calgary; sister-in-law, Emily Puckett of Santa Barbara, California; nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada and Denmark. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., today, Friday, January 9th, 2009 at Peace Lutheran Church, 4027-48th Ave Innisfail.
