Elsie CHALMERS

CHALMERS Elsie Marie Chalmers (Sweet) born December 10, 1931 passed away peacefully on January 23, 2006. Elsie was predeceased by her husband of 24 years Ed Erickson of Killam, Alberta. She was very proud of her three sons Gregory (Barb) of Lacombe, Craig (Kelly) of Lacombe, and Darcy (Marlene) of Sherwood Park. "Grandma Elsie" is lovingly remembered by her 10 grandchildren Crystal (Darryl), Carl, Carolyn, Brandon (Kim), Candice (Cole), Jenna, Tyler, Luke, Jessica, and Nicholas. Elsie is also survived by her sisters Bertha Smith of Ponoka, Joyce Baird of Lacombe, Gloria Bodnerchuk of St. Albert, Susan (Dennis) Umrysh of Camrose, and one brother Walter (Jo) Sweet of Camrose, and numerous nieces and nephews. Elsie was born in Lacombe to Laroy and Florence Sweet and lived in the Morningside area. She worked at the Lacombe hospital for a few years until she married Ronald Chalmers in 1953 and started raising a family. In 1983 when the children were grown, Elsie relocated to Killam. Ed and Elsie spent many winters in Arizona at Apache Junction with some very special friends. Elsie lived in Killam until Ed's passing in February 2005. She then relocated in October 2005 to Lacombe where she resided until her passing. In loving remembrance of someone so very special...We will miss you Mom. Funeral services will be held from St. Andrew's United Church, Lacombe, Alberta on Friday, January 27, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. Cremation entrusted to Central Alberta Crematorium. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, #6 5015 48 St., Red Deer, Alberta T4N 1S9 or to the charity of one's choice.
