FRAESS Elsie Elizabeth (Beth-Betty), Fraess succumbed to cancer at the Red Deer Hospice on Sept. 29, 2006, at the age of 93 years. Beth was born at Melville, Sask. on Dec. 26, 1912. Growing up on a farm Beth was no stranger to long hours of hard work and attained a great strength in body and mind that she exhibited along with independence and self-reliance for the rest of her life. Beth was a mother who loved her children more than anything else. Dancing was a great joy along with the love of nature, flowers and wildlife. Always one to help if she could, Beth wore out four cars over the years traveling to family and friends to help and visit. A memorial to Beth will be held on Oct. 22, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the Birch Bay Ranch near Cooking Lake, east of Edmonton. In lieu of flowers or to honour Beth donations can be made to the Terry Fox Foundation or the Red Deer Hospice Society.
