It is with sad and heavy hearts that the family of Elsie Lillian Skage announces her passing on Thursday, November 23, 2017 at the West Park Lodge at the age of 85 years.
Elsie was born in Sullivan Lake, AB on May 8, 1932. She then lived in Alix, AB with her family where she met the love of her life, John Skage. John and Elsie then moved to Red Deer to raise their family and lived in Red Deer until her passing.
Elsie leaves to mourn her children, John (Barb) Skage of Rocky Mountain House, Nadine (Bob) Pico of Red Deer, Audrey Williams of Red Deer, Lois (Willie) Weich of Cochrane and Ruby Fairbrother (Bob Koehli) of Sylvan Lake; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Butler, Lisa Lauritsen and Alice Matson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her loving husband, John; parents, Charles and Ada Butler; brother, Bud Butler; and sister, Isabel Anderson and son-in-law, Jim Williams.
Elsie's family would like to send many heartfelt thank-you's to the West Park Lodge and Dr. Ollewagen for all their help and all their love and support during this difficult time.
A Celebration of Elsie's Life will take place at the West Park Church of the Nazarene, 3920 - 57 Avenue, Red Deer, AB on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elsie's memory to the Alzheimer Society, Unit G2, 5550 - 45 Street, Red Deer, AB, T4N 1L1. Messages of condolence may be left for the family at www.myalternatives.ca.
