MACDONALD Elsie MacDonald of Alix, Alberta passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at the age of 66 years. Elsie was born in Drumheller, Alberta on Thursday, November 24, 1938 to Alex and Mary Reso. She will be remembered by many as a person who put others before herself, as she loved to help others. Elsie especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Affectionately known as the “Freezie Grandma”, Elsie would always spoil her grandchildren by buying them anything they wanted. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Donald MacDonald, of Alix, Alberta, two sons; Gary MacDonald of Calgary, and Darcy (Leah) MacDonald, of Red Deer, three daughters; Shelly MacDonald, of Chilliwack, British Columbia, Terry MacDonald, of Red Deer, and Anita (Glenn) Rideout, of Sylvan Lake, one stepson, Tony (Glenda) MacDonald, of Grande Prairie, and one stepdaughter, Carol Cromley, of Cowlie, fourteen grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Elsie also leaves to mourn her loss, one brother, Fred (Eileen) Reso, of Red Deer, two sisters; Rose (Ron) Kramer, of Rimbey, and Dorothy (Bill) Hickman, of Red Deer, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Elsie is predeceased by her parents, one brother, and one sister at birth. A gathering of family and friends will take place at a later date.
