Elsie Wilda Riley passed away peacefully at Extendicare Red Deer on October 6, 2014 at the age of 94. Elsie was born October 15, 1919 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She was predeceased by her parents and three sisters; her husband of 58 years, Volney and daughter Joyce. She is survived by sons John, Bowmanville, Ont., and Don, Red Deer, seven grandchildren, Karen, Von, Jody, Jesse, Jenny, David and Kelly, five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Elsie and Volney lived at several locations across Canada during his airforce career. Upon retirement they lived for many years at Breakaway Bays in Surrey, BC. After Volney's death, Elsie returned to Red Deer living at Barrett Place until her move to Extendicare. A celebration of her life will be held at graveside in the family plot, Edmonton Cemetery at 11 a.m., October 10, 2014. A special thank you to the kind and caring staff of Unit 1600 Extendicare for their support during her time there.
